Jack Rodwell has gone on trial at Chelsea’s unofficial reserve side
A cursory glance at Vitesse Arnhem’s squad shows no fewer than four Chelsea loanees.
Fankaty Dabo, Matt Miazga, Charlie Colkett and Masoun Mount are the four chosen ones this season.
Last season Nathan, Lewis Baker and Mukhtar Ali all arrived from Chelsea while the campaign before Izzy Brown, Danilo Pantic and Diminic Solanke made the GelreDome their home.

Not so.
Jack Rodwell has joined Vitesse on trial as Sunderland continue to try and get his £70,000-a-week wages off their budget.
From Wearside to ArnhemGetty - ContributorRodwell has made just one start for Sunderland this season with a further appearance coming off the bench.
It’s a far cry from the teenager who was playing for Everton at 16.

Blood, goals for Ronaldo as Madrid scores 7 to end poor run
MADRID — Despite watching Cristiano Ronaldo go off covered in blood, Real Madrid fans got to celebrate at home again with the team’s biggest win of the season in the Spanish league. Cristiano Ronaldo moans at referee instead of celebrating Gareth Bale’s beautiful goal
Cristiano Ronaldo has never been a fan of other players’ goals.
Even beautiful ones scored by his team-mates.
There’s only so much room in the spotlightREUTERSStuttering Real Madrid were put under pressure once again at the Bernabeu when Adrian gave visitors Deportivo La Coruna the lead midway through the first half in La Liga’s first afternoon kick-off on Sunday.
However, Los Blancos rallied impressively take a 2-1 lead into half time, before putting on an exhibition in the second half to complete a 7-1 thrashing.
Nacho started the comeback as he guided the ball into the net from Marcelo’s smart cutback before the Brazilian provided a second assist when his cross ended up Gareth Bale’s feet at the far post.
The Welshman shifted the ball back onto his wand of a left foot and curled a sublime finish into the top corner.
Cue celebrations from everyone associated with Real Madrid… everyone that is, except Ronaldo.
A recent poll concluded that over 60% of Real Madrid fans want Ronaldo to leave the clubREUTERSA second before Bale’s finish, the Portuguese superstar appealed for a penalty after going down in the box under pressure from his marker.
Replays showed Luisinho had put a hand on Ronaldo’s back but there didn’t appear to be enough pressure to send the five-time Ballon d’Or winner tumbling to the floor in the manner exhibited.
And even though Bale put Real into the lead a moment later, Ronaldo continued his protest, pointing at the ref instead of joining his team-mates in celebrating a fantastic goal.
Ronaldo went down easily in the box Bale retrieved the loose ball Ronaldo appealed for a penalty on the deck And didn’t seem interested in Bale’s shot as it whistled past him Ronaldo continued to stare down the referee as other Real players celebrated Bale’s strike Ronaldo pointed and yelled at the ref as Bale wheeled off to celebrate putting his side aheadRonaldo did eventually make his way over to Bale but his initial reaction was telling of his mindset.
Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer has been criticised for his performances in La Liga this season.
Before kick-off he had four goals to his name in the league and had the worst conversion rate in Europe’s top five leagues this campaign.
The legendary No7 relieved some of the pressure on him with a late double.
He volleyed home Casemiro’s cross from close range in 78th minute before a typically expert header into the bottom corner six minutes later.
His second came at a price too as he lost some blood after getting kicked in the head during the act of scoring.
Ronaldo was brave in stooping to score his secondEPARonaldo doesn't even celebrate our goals , what a diva. #RealMadrid
— Soul Shabazz (@SoulWorldPeace) January 21, 2018
Ronaldo goes down looking for a penalty. Bale scores a cracker but Ronaldo does not celebrate because HE didn’t get a penalty. I wouldn’t have him back anywhere near OT.
— TriggeRedUTD (@jonmikesav8) January 21, 2018
My biggest issue with Ronaldo – he seems to have stopped celebrating teammates goals. Didn't give a fuck Bale scored that, was only arsed about if he was given a penalty or not.
— Dan (@DanTheDad3) January 21, 2018
Ronaldo’s overall performance was impressive.
He produced a superb backheel flick assist into Luka Modric for Real’s fourth goal and was constant threat as Los Blancos run riot in the second half.
But he’s not used to goal droughts and his body language has been a cause for concern in recent times.
Zinedine Zidane will be hoping a welcome brace will spark an upturn in morale and form in his superstar forward.
Roanldo took his league tally to six for the seasonEPAThe hosts won 7-1 in the end with Bale and nacho also bagging braces.
After back-to-back home defeats in La Liga, Zizou will be relieved to his troops swagger to victory in such style.

Chelsea’s striker hunt reaches dark pits of desperation as they turn to Palace flop Christian Benteke
CHELSEA’S search for a new striker could force them to turn to Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke after it emerged Edin Dzeko has no interest in joining them.
The Roma forward emerged as a serious target for Antonio Conte on Thursday.

Liverpool fans go crazy for Andy Robertson after left-back’s performance against Man City
Forget Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson is the true hero at Liverpool this season.
The Scotland international – signed for a measly £8 million from Hull in the summer – has been blindingly good lately, well and truly nailing down the Reds troublesome left-back position.
CLAIM YOUR FREE £20 BET Sun Bets have this brilliant offer when you sign up and bet a fiverAnd in Liverpool’s stunning 4-3 victory over Manchester City this evening, Robertson had the game of his life up against Anfield villain Raheem Sterling.
Sterling has been emphatic so far this seasonAFP or licensorsIn the clash with the Premier League leaders, Jurgen Klopp’s side pulled off a relentless pressing display that clearly rattled City’s defence and nullified their attack.
At kick-off, all eyes were firmly on Sterling – a Liverpool favourite before his move to the Etihad in 2015 – who’s scored 14 times in the league so far this season.
PLAY DREAM TEAM WEEKENDER Pick seven players to win £10k!But it all went a bit wrong for the winger, who was jeered throughout by the Anfield crowd, while Robertson marked him out of the game.
As you’d expect, a large portion of Twitter was very impressed.
Andrew Robertson just sprinted from left-back & pressed City’s goalkeeper & left-back.
Build that man a statue.
— LFC Transfer Room (@LFCTransferRoom) January 14, 2018
Fantastic performance by Robertson. Kept his head throughout in a hugely pressurised game. He won more tackles (7) and made more interceptions (7) than any other player on the pitch today.
— DaveOCKOP (@DaveOCKOP) January 14, 2018
Andy Robertson is so good. Riise has finally been replaced.
— Matt (@FalseFirmino) January 14, 2018
The Kop are bellowing Andy Robertson's name and with good reason. His performance has been exceptional, caused Raheem Sterling to shortcircuit. He may have just made the left-back position his own.
— Dominic King (@DominicKing_DM) January 14, 2018
Robertson is an absolute steal at £8m. Up against Sterling and Walker today but didn’t flinch once. Brilliant in the tackle while getting forward on the overlap, too. Stunning performance.
— Leanne Prescott (@_lfcleanne) January 14, 2018
Robertson has been brilliant today!!! Energy!!! Love it!! @andrewrobertso5 what a performance
— John Arne Riise (@JARiiseOfficial) January 14, 2018
People laughed when I said Robertson's one of the best LBs in the division. Kept Sterling and Walker in his pocket. Maintain he can become one of the best in the world.
— RG (@registability) January 14, 2018
Robertson was phenomenal in the Derby. Even better here. Sterling in his back pocket since minute one. One of the best left back performances from any Liverpool player in years.
— Joel Rabinowitz (@joel_archie) January 14, 2018
One moment, late in the second-half when everyone was exhausted (including viewers in the stadium and at home), Robertson kept up his tremendous pressing play and absolutely terrified City’s back-line.
Starting off on the right flank with Bernardo Silva, Robertson chased down the Portuguese winger – who had no choice but to pass backwards to Kyle Walker.
Walker received the ball, but Robertson kept going.
And he only continues his pursuit when the right-back picks out John Stones in the middle.
Stones quickly swivels and picks out his goalkeeper, but the Liverpool defender doesn’t stop running.
This tiki-taka stuff is risky business; Robertson closes down Ederson who quickly passes to Nicolas Otamendi.
It gets tricky here for the big centre-back, who has no where else to play the ball as Roberto Firmino closes in.
Otamendi inevitably panics and loses the ball, much to the delight of the crowd.
Brilliant work all round.
More of the same, please?
