It’s been a long time coming, but Alvaro Morata has finally added to his goal-tally this season.
The Chelsea striker – who’s only managed one goal this term before this evening – has been severely lacking in confidence lately and is seemingly behind Oliver Giroud in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge at the moment.

However, he was a starter for the Blues tonight in their Europa League clash against everyone’s favourite Hungarian side MOL Vidi.
But in typical fashion, he looked like his usual goal-shy self and missed an absolute sitter in the first-half.
Cue one very bemused-looking Olivier Giroud.
Luckily, things got better for him in the second-half and he eventually got his breakthrough on the 70th minute.
After some good build up play down the right-wing by Cesc Fabregas, it took a lovely header from Willian in the box to pick out Morata for his goal.
The striker instinctively flicked the ball into the back of the net and everyone in Stamford Bridge collectively breathed a very big sigh of relief.
So did we, to be fair.

In fact, the relief was clear to see on Morata’s face as he celebrated with Willian and his other teammates.
He actually seemed very emotional with the goal, burying his head into the shoulder of Willian as the Blues embraced the beleaguered striker.
Lovely team spirit.

Amazingly, this was only his second shot on target out of 14 attempts in the Europa League this season, which just goes to show how wasteful he was last time out against PAOK.
Still, none of that matters now, does it? Let’s hope this is the start of plenty more goals.
