Jose Mourinho’s post-match cry for redemption might be too late

We’ve never seen him do something like this.

In what seemed like a desperate bid to keep the disgruntled supporters on his side, the Portuguese boss made a point of saying sorry at full-time.

Mourinho headed straight for the supporters by the tunnel He stood directly in-front of them and proceeded to clap the remaining crowd The fans responded well and threw Mourinho a United scarf that he held and took with him down the tunnel

It has been somewhat of a love/hate relationship between the manager and fans since Mourinho’s arrival in 2016.

As pundits heap pressure on Mourinho, he might well need all the support he can get in the coming weeks just to keep his job.

He claimed that the fans answered all the critics in an ‘amazing way’ and hasn’t ever seen a fan base react like that to a 3-0 defeat at home.
