Brazil icon Ronaldo could return to Corinthians in ´high up´ position

Ronaldo could be set for a return to Corinthians if Andres Sanchez confirms his candidacy and wins the club's upcoming presidential elections.

Andres previously served as president of the Sao Paulo giants between 2007 and 2011, but is expected to stand in next February's vote.

Although he has not officially confirmed his bid for office, the 53-year-old has vowed to appoint one of Brazil's most highly revered former strikers to a directorial position as part of a potential running strategy.

Two-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo was part of two World Cup and Copa America triumphs and won trophies during spells with Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid before hanging up his boots after Corinthians failed to qualify for the Copa Libertadores group stage in 2011.

"If I'm a candidate and can win the election, Ronaldo will be at Corinthians," Andres said in an interview with Estadao.
